Dentalk is proof we ship serious mobile products — not just websites. It's a feature-rich consumer app with real-time infrastructure at its core.
A dental community needed more than a forum. They wanted a true social platform where dentists could share, learn and trade — with live events and direct communication built in. The result had to feel as polished as the consumer apps people already use every day.
Two native applications — Android in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, and iOS in Swift — sharing a single backend. The platform combines an Instagram-style social feed with posts, stories and a follow graph; real-time group chat; live video broadcasting with co-hosts; one-to-one and group video and voice calling; an integrated marketplace with orders; an in-app photo editor; and a full admin and moderation panel.
The specialist engineering lives in the live layer. Broadcasting to viewers, bringing co-hosts on stream, and running group voice and video calls reliably across devices and networks is where most apps fall over. We built this on Agora's real-time engine, with the surrounding social, marketplace and moderation systems on Firebase — auth, database, storage, cloud functions and messaging.
The codebase follows a clean, modular architecture: every feature is separated into its own data, domain and presentation layers. That isn't just tidy — it means features stay isolated, changes are safer, and the product can grow without turning into a tangle. It's how we build everything, including Deskloc.
Under the hood
